Well, not so fast, as the FIRST patch install attempt was done via the "Sierra Utilities" program, which ALSO crapped on the SAME error message.I then proceeded to download the ACTUAL file from Sierra's site (the damn Sierra Utilities program does NOT save the download, thus requiring you to run the whole process again (I decided to simply download the patch from the net).So, in the end, I've tried twice to both download the patch and install, but the same error comes up.Any ideas? This is normally caused by bad installation media or a corrupt installation file. I just had to reinstall Half-Life (the original game install went fine) and in the process of installing the 54Mb patch (updates HL to 1106 version), an error message comes up:quote:An I/O error occurred while installing a file.
